Homecoming Scouting Report - Affton

Posted Thursday, September 24, 2009 by Marc Manning
Berkeley's 2009 Homecoming opponent is conference rival Affton.

The Cougars are currently ranked in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch's Top 10 rankings for St. Louis and enter the game with a 3-1 record overall.

After a home loss to Normandy two weeks ago, Affton traveled to Imperial, MO to play Windsor High. Affton's running game overwhelmed the host Owls, scoring more than sixty points in an easy win.

Match-ups to Watch:

Berkeley LBs versus Affton RBs
Affton's top threat in the backfield has scored over 80 points thus far in 2009. If Berkeley is to win their '09 Homecoming, the linebacking corps led by Darius Jefferson, Aaron Crump, Marshon Eddings and Dushawn Blakely must fight, tackle and wrap up Cougar ballcarriers.

Berkeley passing attack versus the Affton secondary
In a 2008 defeat at Affton, MS-B got no touchdowns and threw one INT in route to a one point loss. To get on track in '09, the Bulldogs will have to strike through the air efficiently against the Cougar coverage and forecasted afternoon rain showers.
